PES Framework grant 2021-22 University of South-Eastern Norway

Alternative title: PES rammebevilgningen 2021-22 Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge

Awarded: NOK 3.1 mill.

USN has ambitions to increase participation and success in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe. USN has developed a Horizon Europe Action Plan to build strong foundations and a framework to enable increased success. The implementation of this living Action Plan will be in focus in 2021 and 2022. The plan has 3 main drivers (1) broad and targeted mobilisation to Horizon Europe (2) supporting internally through a committed management, alignment with USNs strategy and profile and a professional research administration and (3) positioning externally in relevant arena, networks at a regional, national and EU level and with strategic partners. USN will conduct targeted positioning activities both with strategic partners and regional actors as well as participate in national and international networks and partnering events. In order to ensure organisation wide awareness and engagement competence building activities will be carried out across the organisation. A particular focus will be on supporting research talent to succeed on the competitive EU arena and recruiting researcher talent to USN. Professional research support (research administration, financial services, personnel, Library, and internationalisation unit) will be further developed to inform, and support activities, proposals and projects in line with the expectations of the new Framework Programme. PES funding is instrumental in enabling a young University to create a culture for EU project participation and to increase success in Horizon Europe.
