PES Horisont Europa rammebevilgning 2021–22 Vestlandsforsking

Western Norway Research Institute wants to maintain the active participation in the EU's research and innovation program, and we want to raise the quality of our applications aimed at Horizon Europe. To achieve this we will emphasize to increase the competence, network building, maintain good networks and facilitate knowledge transfer between researchers at the institute. We will strengthen the institute by establishing an action plan for Horizon Europe and to make a gender equality plan which now is one of the new requirements for applicants in Horizon Europe. The institute will focus in particular on profiling and positioning the institution internationally in big data (social security and health), Arctic research, climate research (transport and mobility) and inclusive societies (culture, identity and technology). We plan to be active in these areas as a participant, work package leader and coordinator in the project period. The institute has participated in several international projects in recent years, and in Horizon 2020 we participated in as many as 5 research projects. Within big data, the researchers have both participated in and coordinated EU project, and have also an ongoing Horizon 2020 project (RESILOC). In Arctic research, we have two ongoing Horizon 2020 projects: (FACE-IT and JUST-NORTH). The researchers in culture, identity and technology also have experience in participating in international research projects and as an evaluator in Horizon 2020. This competence and the broad network we have built up is important to us. In addition, we must ensure that we have the latest updated administrative knowledge, which will be possible for us through the planned courses and activities in this project. We aim to maintain the active participation. It requires that we nurture the networks and is present at the arenas that can connect us to new contacts and expand our networks. We will focus on participating in digital meeting arenas also in 2021 and 2022.

Vestlandsforsking ønsker å opprettholde den aktive deltakelse i EUs forsknings- og innovasjonsprogram, og vi ønsker å heve kompetansen vår knyttet til Horisont Europa. For å oppnå dette vil vi vektlegge administrativ og faglig kompetanseheving, posisjonering og nettverksbygging, ivareta gode nettverk og legge til rette for kunnskapsoverføring mellom forskere på instituttet. I tillegg skal Vestlandsforsking gjennom posisjoneringsaktiviteter være aktiv i bygging av relasjoner med ledende europeiske miljøer og delta på konsortiemøter og konferanser som presenterer og deler kunnskap om de europeiske forsknings- og innovasjon-strategier. Vi ønsker også å forankre arbeidet med Horisont Europa i en strategi for instituttets deltakelse i det nye rammeprogrammet. I tillegg vil vi etablere en handlingsplan for likestilling som er et av de nye kravene i Horisont Europa. Instituttet har ein tverrfagleg profil, og temaområda for forsking er klima, miljø, energi, transport, informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi (IKT), regional utvikling og reiseliv. Hovedområdene vi vil jobbe innenfor opp imot Horisont Europa er stordata, ‘kultur, identitet og teknologi’, klimatilpasning, energiomstilling og bærekraftig forbruk. Vestlandsforsking planlegger i innenfor disse områdene å delta som deltaker eller arbeidspakkeleder i 8 prosjektsøknader og koordinator for 4 prosjektsøknader i 2021 og 2022.
