Flowphys has developed, validated, and demonstrated several flow assurance simulator software tools (TRL6/7) through 6 geothermal research projects (5 H2020 and 1 Eurostars). These simulators are tailor-made for geothermal energy and includes novel geofluid models; dynamic & steady-state, single- & multi-phase, incompressible & compressible flow, multi-component thermodynamic calculations in single pipes and in pipe networks; device models for geothermal; models for geothermal scaling, corrosion, erosion; dynamic drill string physics simulations; controls; Digital Twin; techno-economic Knowledge-Based System (KBS) & decision support system (DSS). Combining these with optimization will lead to significant cost reductions and increased energy production for geothermal powerplants. In GeoSim, we will combine all these simulator tools into one coherent software suite with a shared GUI, making it a commercial-ready software tool for wider use in the geothermal energy industry.
