The Multiple needle pliers technology has recently got support from Norges forskningsråd. The researchers Lars Engseth and Erik Aunan at Sykehuset Innlandet in Lillehammer and the engineer Jørgen Grønsund at the University of Stavanger have designed and developed a device for facilitating ligament balancing in total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This innovation aims to reduce the complications after knee replacement interventions. Thanks to this qualification project in collaboration with the Oslo University Hospital in Ullevål, the prototype will be tested in human knee carcasses for the first time.
