FISK 4.0 – Industrialisering av den marine verdikjeden

FISH 4.0 aims to contribute to value creation and adaptation within the marine and maritime industries in Møre og Romsdal through cross-sectorial collaboration, knowledge development and capacity building. The Norwegian fishing fleet is facing both national and international demands and expectations for sustainable future growth and development in line with the industrial green shift. To achieve this, new knowledge and technology are required for developing new automated systems for handling large volumes of raw material whilst also enhancing quality. Møreforsking is project owner and collaborates with NTNU's Department of Ocean Operations and Civil Engineering, Møre and Romsdal County administration, and a selection of main actors within the marine value chain: Havfisk, Nordic Wildfish, Optimar, Teknotherm, Skipsteknisk as well as the grouping «Norwegian Frozen at Sea». Further, the clusters NCE iKuben, NCE Blue Legasea, and GCE Blue Maritime are important partners to ensure interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration in the project. The project implements Industry 4.0, a term reflecting the fourth industrial revolution wherein integration, digitalization, and flow of goods (lean) are key concepts. FISH 4.0 focuses on the interaction between biological and technological expertise to improve production and processes by use of automation and sensor technology. The overall idea of the project is to facilitate interaction between industry and national and international expertise across sectors. During the start-up year of 2022, this has been the focus through workshops, seminars, and student competitions. FISH 4.0 has created meeting places for both business, R&D, and students. In total, more than 150 students and representatives from industry and R&D have been consulted to discuss the need for new knowledge. A communication plan, work plan, and case studies have also been outlined based on issues initially highlighted by the project consortium. Inputs from the "expanded" project group, which consists of more than 200 member companies affiliated with the three industry clusters and the "Norwegian Frozen at Sea" grouping, have been included. The project consortium and the extended project group are important contributors to forthcoming activities in the project. A new work plan for 2023 is now being prepared, including the initialization of two PhD candidates on the topic of automated fishing platform on board fishing vessels.

FISK 4.0 skal utvikle kunnskap og bygge forskningskapasitet for verdiskapning og omstilling i marin og maritim sektor i Møre og Romsdal. Prosjektet tar utgangspunkt i havfiskeflåten hvor det finnes nasjonale- og internasjonale forventninger til vekst og bærekraft. Dette fordrer ny kunnskap innen utvikling av nye automatiserte systemer for håndtering av store mengder råstoff, samtidig som man opprettholder høy kvalitet. Prosjektet implementerer Industri 4.0, en betegnelse på den fjerde industrielle revolusjon hvor integrasjon, digitalisering og vareflyt (lean) er sentrale begrep. Det er et sterkt fokus mot samhandling mellom biologisk og teknologisk kunnskap slik at produkter og prosesser kan kobles mot automatikk og sensorteknologi, en nødvendighet i en tid med rask teknologiutvikling. Prosjektet er sterkt forankret i Møre og Romsdal sin fylkesstrategi for forskning og innovasjon. Prosjektet har fire innsatsområder der overordnet ide er å legge til rette for SAMHANDLING(i) mellom næringslivet og nasjonal og internasjonal kompetanse. Forskningsmiljøene vil være brobyggere, som kobler relevant kapasitet og kompetanse, og dermed legge til rette for økt konkurransekraft både i næringsliv og akademia. Klyngene som deltar i prosjektet, vil være spesielt viktige som retningsgivere og arenabyggere. De representerer et stort nettverk av bedrifter i ulike sektorer som gjennom felles aktiviteter vil skape grunnlag for tverrsektoriell innovasjon. FISK 4.0 ser hele verdikjeden i sammenheng og vil bidra til å akselerere omstilling og redusere risiko for havgående fiskeflåte og tilhørende verdikjeder. Dette skal realiseres gjennom utvikling av nye teknologiske løsninger i FABRIKKEN (ii) og kartlegging hvordan fabrikkløsningen påvirker konstruksjon av BÅTEN(iii) og KVALITETEN (iv) på råstoffet. Samarbeidspartnere er NTNU-IHB, Havfisk, Nordic Wildfish, Optimar, Teknotherm, Skipsteknisk, Norwegian Frozen at Sea samt de tre klyngene NCE Blue Legasea, NCE Ikuben og GCE Blue Maritime.
