The Havkraft Wave Energy Converter (H-WEC) is a patented system that converts wave energy into electricity. We split the ocean wave frequencies in large, medium and small waves into different chambers in the converter to better harvest the waves’ energy. With separate turbines for each frequency, power production has optimal efficiency. The waves are converted into water pistons that create pressurized air and vacuums that impulse turbines at the top that run the same way because of the guiding vanes, making energy production constant as long as there is motion in the ocean.
The H-WEC is so agile and flexible that we can offer solutions fitted to a wide range of sectors. It is fully scalable to any location and power demand. It can be made from a wide range of materials, such as concrete, steel, composite etc. to last for up to 100 years with minimal maintenance. The H-WEC is a cost-efficient starting point to any marine renewable project and can achieve an estimated Levelized Cost of Energy of 0.02 - 0.20 €/kWh.
