Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium (NORA) Annual Conference

Awarded: NOK 99,999

The NORA Annual Conference 2021 is a two day conference hosted by the Norwegian Artificial Research Consortium (NORA), alongside its 14 partners. A total of 100 plus participants are expected to the conference. NORA is a partnership consortium, consisting of 8 Universities, 2 University Colleges and 4 Research Institutions, and is therefore the largest artificial intelligence (AI) collaboration in Norway on a national level. The Annual Conference is an essential event organised by NORA, where the aim is to build platform for Norwegian researchers within the field of artificial intelligence to come together to exchange knowledge, research, share ideas, theories and develop new methods in the field of AI. Knowledge sharing and interaction will be at the?center?of the conference, which will in turn foster a strong community of researchers and practitioners, bridging the gap between Norwegian research institutions,?startups, public institutions?and industry.? The IKTPLUSS program identifies AI and Machine Learning as priority areas, stating that competence building efforts within these fields are crucial, yet challenging. Access to expertise and strong research environments operating within the field of artificial intelligence is vital if Norway is to succeed and be able to meet challenges of increased digitalisation, both in the public and private sector. NORA has already been successful in building a strong research environment focused on Artificial Intelligence in Norway, through the support of its 14 partners. The annual conference will strengthen the relationship between researchers at the various partner institutions. By introducing an inter- and multidisciplinary approach to the field by inviting researchers from various disciplines and fields to come together, we will discuss and solve societal challenges derived from the heightened use of technology, and discuss gaps and address national needs for research and innovation in selected areas of society.
