The main goal of this project is to model the spatial distribution of reindeer cadavers in the arctic tundra. The effects of reindeer cadavers can be long lasting in the nutrient poor arctic ecosystem. However, the spatial distribution of these cadavers is not random, which means that these cadavers may structure the biodiversity and ecological processes of the arctic. This thesis will focus on decomposing all the factors that determine the location of reindeer cadavers. When this is done it is possible to quantify carrion biomass in the arctic tundra. This will help to comprehend the ecological significance of carrion in ecosystems.
