This doctoral project investigates the professional learning community of teachers and how they work and teach to achieve inclusive practice in the classroom. Inclusive practice is understood as practices where all students experience participation and feel mastering both academically and socially. The project puts special emphasis on developing knowledge about what inhibit or promote inclusive practice. The main aim is that the knowledge from the project, in both short and long term, contributes to being able to work more knowledge-based and analytically to facilitate mastery for all students at both system and unit level. Further, the project aims to explore experiences, attitudes and values of teachers and school leaders, and what actually goes on in classroom practices. To obtain this knowledge, data is collected through interviews of teachers and school leaders and systematic observation of classroom practices. The results from the doctoral project will also be used to analyse the potential for change in inclusive pedagogy that might lie in the professional community of teachers. Hopefully, the project contributes to developing both new and existing methods to achieve a more community-building practice in the classroom. The study will take place at a school in a municipality located in Western Norway, and the participants in the project will be schoolteachers and school leaders. The doctoral project aims to develop a more research-based practice and thereby increase competence as regards both organisational and pedagogical aspects.

4.Kva kjenneteiknar inkluderande pedagogisk praksis i klasserommet i Suldalsskulen?
