Fremtidens Fôrsystem - Industri 5.0 for en bærekraftig agri-industri

Alternative title: Forage management of the future - Industry 5.0 for a sustainable agriculture industry

Awarded: NOK 9.8 mill.

Orkel AS and TKS Agri AS have joined forces to meet several of the challenges in both agriculture and manufacturing industry. The UN climate panel say major challenges such as drought and varying crop yield can result in more frequent feed crises. At the same time, agriculture must be developed sustainably, contribute to increased food production and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. We see great potential in mechanical and digital solutions for proper storage and use of the feed. The farmer should be able to calculate how much feed he has, with better knowledge of content, and whether he must/can buy/sell feed. This enables a wider range of feed in terms of different crops for varying weather, as well as the possibility of increased amount of locally produced protein in favour of imported soy protein. In the project, the companies will jointly develop the feed system of the future to meet the needs and create new opportunities. It involves digital and mechanical solutions for tracking the feed from harvest to feeding, control of raw materials, storage system and optimal feed preparation. The solution will be developed on a new platform, which is part of the project as well. Industry 5.0 is a new step in industrial development, with a focus on connecting technology, sustainability and employees as a platform for products and services. Based on these principles, the project is developing the Core Product Service Platform (CPSP). This consists of enablers for developing new products, services and processes where one can move purposefully towards the sustainable production of products and services in international competition in a completely new way. CPSP is a platform of knowledge, communication tools and methods that help turn every employee into a resource in innovation and improvement work. CPSP will enable companies to utilize the best in today's business, while at the same time more efficiently develop solutions to cover customer needs we are not yet aware of.
