The Sensor Decade

Awarded: NOK 99,999

It is time for Norway to solidify its well-deserved position as a leader in driving collaborative sensor technology innovation, by creating an area for all of those involved in sensor research to meet. The Sensor Decade is envisioned as a long-term initiative beginning as a national meeting, and eventually growing into an international meeting for discussing leading sensor research. By meeting and discussing trends and visions, we can accelerate new ideas, aid the growth of SME technology providers, establish new start-ups and long-term strategic alignments. Currently, there is no existing conference in Norway that has the same strong technical focus on sensor development, even though we have a significant number of enterprises and institutes that work with and develop sensors. This first Sensor Decade event will start by sharing which exciting new sensor technology is being developed around Norway today, allowing us to gain a common understanding of the next big sensor challenges and helping us identify the skills required for the next generation of researchers and product developers. The Sensor Decade 2022 will comprise a technical conference with exciting speakers from industry, the research sector, and start-ups. To give students an opportunity to get involved, we will hold The Student Challenge, providing them and industry an exciting context in which they can meet each other.
