Support application for the 11th Colour and Visual Computing Symposium 2022 (CVCS 2022)

Awarded: NOK 24,999

The 11th Colour and Visual Computing Symposium 2022 (CVCS 2022) will take place in Gjøvik at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, on 8-9 September 2022. This edition of the symposium follows up on the success achieved by the previous runs, of the biannual Gjøvik Colour Imaging Symposium (GCIS), from 2003 to 2011, and CVCS 2013, CVCS 2015, CVCS 2018, and CVCS 2020. The symposium has attracted a growing number of participants and provided a platform for fruitful discussions and exploration of recent theoretical advances and emerging practical applications of colour and visual information processing. The symposium has in the past attracted around 80 participants from all over the world. This year, we invited three keynote speakers for the symposium, • Professor Karl R Gegenfurtner from Giessen University in Germany who will give a talk focused on “Color Vision for Objects”, • Professor Robert Jenssen from UiT The Arctic University of Norway who will focus on “Visual Intelligence for Medical Image Analysis", • Dr. Sebastian Bosse from the Interactive & Cognitive Systems Group at Fraunhofer HHI –Heinrich Hertz Institute, Germany who will give a talk on “Image and Video Quality Assessment”, • Dr. William Smith from the Department of Computer Science, University of York, UK who will give a talk on “Self-supervised Inverse Rendering”, Although CVCS 2022 is partly sponsored by Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), we are not able to cover the remaining cost by registration fees only. Therefore, we apply to the Research Council of Norway for Support for Events.
