The 4th BI Conference on Corporate Governance

On June 8-9, 2023, the Center for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR) and the Norwegian Business School BI (BI) hosted the fourth BI Conference on Corporate Governance. The conference took place on two days: the first day (June 8) was devoted to social activities and informal discussions while the academic conference – with the presentation of 8 papers – took place on June 9. The invited presenters were top researchers in the area of Corporate Governance presenting papers on the Governance research frontier, focusing on ESG (Environment Social Governance) subjects.

1)For CCGR-members to participate in the discussion of working papers on the research frontier. The paper presented were all authored by recognized experts in the area of Corporate Governance and all studies were at an initial stage. Hence conference participants were exposed to articles sitting on the research frontier. 2)For (some) CCGR-members to present their own work and receive comments from international top researchers. One presentation was on a paper co-authored by two BI faculty members. This was a significant opportunity for them to obtain feedback from some of the best researchers in the Corporate Governance field. 3)Interact with conference participants in an informal manner and form relationships. Both dinners were attended by the speakers and a number of BI faculty members which promoted interaction with the conference presenters. Moreover all invited speakers hold editorial positions in top journals, which facilitates BI faculty's access to such outlets.

Two-day conference arranged by the Centre for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR) at BI Norwegian Business School with top researchers in the area of corporate governance from North America and Europe. Day 1 contains a workshop with NBIM as well as a social event and dinner, day 2 contains the actual conference with 8 presentations and discussions, followed by dinner.
