NTNU's participation in EERA's Joint Programme Bioenergy

Awarded: NOK 0.48 mill.

The project will support the participation of Researcher Raquel Jorge in EERA JP Bioenergy related activities. Participation in networks such as EERA is considered an activity of strategic importance by NTNU and by the NTNU Energy Transition Initiative (NETI), in which Jorge has a role as EU research coordinator. Currently, Jorge is involved in the following EERA activities: 1) she is part of the Management Board (MB) of EERA's JP on Bionenergy, namely as coordinator for Sub-programme 5 on Sustainability/Techno-Economic Analysis/Public Acceptance of Bioenergy (since 2018; role confirmed until June 2026); 3) she supports the group of NTNU Professors involved in a initiative for establishing a EERA Centre of Excellence in energy transition models (ongoing), which is an initiative from the EERA Secretariat; 4) she provides administrative support to an NTNU led initiative for the creation of an European Forum for Energy and Climate Transition (EFECT: www.efect.eu), in which EERA is a key partner; 5) Jorge is also a substitute ("vara") for Professor Tomasgard in EERA JP e3s. In particular, the project will include the following activities: 1) as part of the MB of the JP Bioenergy, Jorge will participate in the JP's monthly MB meetings, Steering Commiittee meetings (occuring twice a year), sub-programme meetings (usually once a year), webinars, etc. 2) Jorge will organize two meetings for SP5 members, in 2023 (Europe) and 2024 (Norway), respectively. 3) she will initiate and be involved in activities for EERA partners targetting consortia formation for specific research calls (e.g,. brokerage events, workshops, etc) and will also involve NTNU colleagues at IØT and other departments in these activities. 4) Jorge will participate in activities initiated by the EERA Secretariat in which JP Bio is involved, such as those related to EERA Task Forces (described in the project description document) and other strategic activities.
