Bærekraftige markeder: Rettslige rammer for innovasjon og konkurranse for bærekraftige markedsresultater

Alternative title: Sustainable markets: The legal framework for innovation and competition for a sustainable market outcome

Awarded: NOK 0.89 mill.

The project Sustainable Markets investigate how the legal framework for markets and innovation can contribute to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project is run by the research group MIC (Markets, Innovation, Competition), under the Department of Private Law, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. In an open, modern and technological market economy, as in Norway and the EEA, it is up to the market to bring forward new and innovative technology. Competition law regulate the market behavior of private as well as public actors, and intellectual property law and regulation of innovation promote the development of innovative products and technology. The project investigates how the law promotes - or can promote - the development of sustainable technology and a sustainable market outcome, that contributes to tackle the UN SDGs. The project is implemented through the participation of the research group in two Nordic/European research networks. Cooperation and interdisciplinary research is important as the EU/EEA is driving legal reforms, and as the societal challenges with tackling the UN SDGs are global in nature. The research group MIC also runs two national networks (Competition Law Forum and MIC Agenda) facilitating cooperation between national research institutions and communication of research results to the Norwegian society, including political decision makers.

Bærekraftige Markeder styrker gruppens deltagelse i to nordiske/europeiske nettverk.
