Revolutionizing Stroke Diagnosis with AI-Powered Innovation Every second counts when it comes to diagnosing and treating brain bleeding patients. Our innovation, an AI-powered diagnostic software medical device, is set to transform brain bleeding care by enabling faster, more accurate diagnoses and efficient communication among medical teams, specifically by aiding in the diagnosis of the severity of intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) and intracranial haemorrhage (ICH). These advancements could save lives, improve patient outcomes, and optimize healthcare resources worldwide. In addition to the diagnoses of ICH and IVH, it can also predicts disease trajectories, enhancing clinicians’ ability to provide timely and effective interventions. Accomplishment Overview We embarked on this commercialization journey with ambitious goals for the qualification project, which have been achieved. Our achievements include: Product Optimization: We developed and validated our predictive model using extensive datasets, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of our diagnostic tools. Additionally, the user interface was fine-tuned to ensure ease of use for medical professionals. Market Insights: By engaging with leading experts in brain bleeding care and conducting in-depth market research, we analyzed customer behavior, evaluated market feasibility, and proposed good business cases for our solution. Regulatory Pathways Defined: With expert consultancy, we charted clear pathways for complying with Medical Device Regulations (MDR) and FDA standards with the focus on the intended use, prepared the foundation of regulatory compliance for further commercialization steps. IP Strategy Implementation: We established a robust intellectual property framework, applied Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) methodology to map the potential IPs inside the whole invention. We have filed the patent application to protect our technology and support a sustainable commercialization strategy. Licensing Readiness: We have planned a commercialization strategy, positioning us for the next phase—bringing our innovation to market. Impact on Society This technology is not just about better tools—it’s about reshaping the care for brain bleeding patients and predicting disease trajectories, enhancing clinicians’ ability to provide timely and effective interventions. Faster, more accurate diagnoses mean earlier treatment, which directly improves patient survival rates and recovery outcomes. Enhanced communication among medical teams enables better collaboration, reducing errors and delays. Moreover, by utilizing existing medical infrastructure more efficiently, this solution allows more patients to be treated without requiring significant additional resources. Looking Ahead Our current commercial plan focuses on licensing to a company with an extensive medical device portfolio. We also see potential synergies with our other innovation, CHRONOS, a brain tumor treatment follow-up tool, creating opportunities for an unified commercialization strategy. This innovation is a giant leap forward in using artificial intelligence to support human expertise in healthcare. It’s a glimpse into a future where medicine is faster, smarter, and more impactful than ever before—a future we are proud to help create.

The successful completion of the planned project tasks has led to highly positive outcomes. We have filed a patent application, the researchers submitted a manuscript on this work to a widely read journal in the relevant research community and the paper is currently undergoing peer-review. The manuscript is titled: “Monitoring the lateral ventricles in the presence of intracranial hemorrhage using automated dual segmentation”. The innovation significantly improves the speed and accuracy of brain bleed diagnostics and enhances communication among medical teams. This results in better patient care and more efficient use of existing medical resources, enabling treatment of a larger number of patients without additional infrastructure. It represents a major advancement in applying artificial intelligence to support clinical expertise—a step toward a future where healthcare is faster, more intelligent, and more effective. We are proud to contribute to shaping that future.
