CodeIT, Sone4 and Chalmers Industriteknik, have teamed up to develop a solution that will secure EU market demands for product quality, sustainability, legality, and supply chain transparency within the fish industry. The EU is intensifying efforts to ensure the sustainability and traceability of seafood products while preventing illegal and unreported fishing. New policies and goals for circular economy such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and the Digital Product Passport (DPP) will improve the circularity and environmental sustainability of products and facilitate the free movement of goods within the EU. To satisfy this unmet need, the TRACELAND project aims to develop, and validate Legal Landing: an innovative, user-friendly, and end-to-end traceability solution for wild fisheries. The project will assist in rapidly and seamlessly adopting new regulatory requirements for all types of fisheries and reception facilities, small or big, while enhancing transparency and efficiency. Legal Landing will be built in a versatile and adaptable manner, capable of meeting unique traceability needs of different company sizes and industry sectors. TRACELAND solution will leverage common product language (GS1 standards), the DPP, blockchain technology, and robust cybersecurity measures. The unique features of Legal Landing are: * Scalable to different sizes and types of fisheries, vessel locations, and landing facilities. * User-friendly providing a low threshold and easy data access to all stakeholders such as fishermen, processors, distributors, consumers, and regulators. * Lowest environmental impact regarding manufacturing and installation. * Long-lasting robust hardware – even for harsh marine conditions. * Robust cybersecurity and transparent records. * Open interface easy to integrate with e.g., authorities systems. The project will thus transform the drawbacks of a traditional supply chain to become a fully transparent and traceable.
