The 10th Seminar on Exercise in Medicine

Alternative title: Trening som medisin

Awarded: NOK 99,999

The biannual Exercise in Medicine seminar is a unique event that unites experts from around the world to explore how exercise can prevent lifestyle-related diseases, with a focus on dementia and heart disease. Through cutting-edge biotechnology, we’re uncovering how physical activity can positively impact our cells and molecules to hopefully address these diseases. The seminar has several exciting goals: 1. Sharing our latest discoveries: We’ll showcase our newest research findings, aiming to make this information accessible to both scientists and the general public. Our researchers will also actively share insights on social media, broadening the reach of our work. 2. Building connections across borders: The event is an ideal setting to strengthen existing partnerships and form new ones, bringing together specialists in dementia, heart disease, biotechnology, and bioinformatics from around the globe. 3. Fostering learning at every level: Through close collaboration between PhD students and senior experts, we encourage mentorship, knowledge exchange, and collaborative learning that can inspire fresh ideas and discoveries. 4. Encouraging open dialogue: With around 150 participants, including 10 renowned international researchers, the seminar is designed to foster deep discussions and brainstorming sessions in a friendly, small-group setting that helps drive the field forward.

The 10th Exercise in Medicine seminar is a biannual event that brings together national and international experts in prevention of lifestyle-related diseases by exercise with an emphasis on dementia and cardiovascular diseases. The seminar series focus on the application of advanced biotechnology methods to deepen our understanding of the cellular and molecular links between physical activity and disease prevention. Key objectives of the seminar include: 1. Presenting the most recent developments from our research group to the scientific community and the public. This will be achieved through seminar participation and active engagement on social media platforms. 2. Preserving existing partnerships and establishing new national and international networks in the fields of dementia, cardiovascular disease, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. 3. Encouraging two-way knowledge transfer between PhD students and senior professors to foster mentorship and collaborative learning. 4. Creating an intimate setting that promotes open discussions and brainstorming, pushing beyond the current state-of-the-art to develop innovative, interdisciplinary approaches. The seminar is expected to host approximately 150 participants, including around 10 world-leading researchers.
