This preparatory project supports the coordinated development of a full proposal under the 2nd call of the Agroecology Partnership. The focus is on structuring a coherent, interdisciplinary application built on existing scientific knowledge, practical experience, and European policy priorities.
KVANN will lead the development of the work package dedicated to assessing the social dimensions of multi-strata agroforestry systems (AFSs). This includes identifying suitable methods for sociological analysis, aligning with current research, and developing a shared understanding across partners of how social dynamics impact agroecological transition. In parallel, KVANN will contribute to tasks related to selecting and validating indicators for ecosystem service assessment, and explore potential contributions to other work packages, particularly through its role as a Living Lab.
To achieve this, KVANN will organise internal and consortium-wide meetings to clarify roles, discuss trial setups, outreach activities, and data collection, and to ensure realistic planning within budgetary and resource constraints. Literature reviews will be conducted on sociological assessment methods, rural development, and agroecological transition processes. Consultations will also cover EU and Norwegian policies relevant to the project scope.
A series of proposal review rounds will ensure the integration of partner expertise, alignment across work packages, and consistency with the Partnership’s expectations. The process will result in a clearly defined proposal structure, including detailed work package descriptions with deliverables, milestones, risks, as well as justified budget allocation across work packages.
