European International Business Academy Annual Conference, Oslo, 2005

The EIBA Annual Conference is hosted each year by a major European university. The 2005 conference will be organized into ten different tracks reflecting the disciplinary and topical diversity of research in international business. The conference tracks a re the following (track chairs in parantheses): 1. The economics and governance of multinational enterprise (S. Thomsen, Copenhagen Business School) 2. Cross-cultural marketing and buyer behavior (C.A.Solberg, BI) 3. International distribution and supply chain management (G. Gripsrud, BI) 4. Historical and humanistic perspectives on international business (R.P. Amdam, BI) 5. Cross-cultural management (P. Gooderham, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) 6. Managing knowledge (L. Håka nson, Copenhagen Business School) 7. International entrepreneurship and untraditional internationalization behaviors (S. McGaughey, Copenhagen Business School) 8. International finance and management control (T. Randøy, Agder University College) 9. Intern ational strategy and organization (R. Lunnan, BI) 10. Foreign direct investment, development policies and trajectories (R. Narula, University of Reading) Conference Chair: Gabriel R.G. Benito Administration: Lillan Steigum About 200 papers are expected to be presented in the conference. Submitted papers are selected on the basis of a review process using regular double-blind procedures. Papers are presented in three different types of sessions – competitive papers, workshop papers, and poster papers – d epending on their quality and state of completion. The conference also organizes a number of panels, including usually at least one high-profile plenary session (either as a panel or a keynote speech), and a pre-conference Doctoral Tutorial. Major prizes/ awards are the prize given to best thesis proposal presented in the tutorial and the Gunnar Hedlund Award for best doctoral dissertation in International Business.
