It is a strong focus on use of real time data in the petroleum industry. Several vendors can offer real time databases for drilling data. It is however a lack of tools for utilizing all the data to create information, decision support and closing decision /control loops. The project will develop new methodologies for monitoring and control of the well construction process using time- and depth indexed real time data. The sub processes that will be considered are: • Well control • Lost circulation • Under balanced drilling • Pore pressure and fracture pressure assessment • Wellbore stability • Completion operations The new technologies will be applied to high quality data from full-scale experiments and historical data supplied from the participants in th e project. Control algorithms will be tested using synthetic data were model errors and measurement noise are considered.
