PRECARE: Conservation of cultural heritage - careful management of changes

PRECARE is focused on achieving knowledge to sustain management and conservation of cultural heritage as buildings and objects of art. The program has a special focus on documentation, preventive conservation and conservation through active use. PRECARE s ees one challenge in documentation of Status Quo, PRECARE focuses on monitoring changing conditions and PRECARE sees a challenge in conservation through active use focusing on local participation. PRECARE´s main objective is to develop and evaluate strate gies for conservation, as a basis for a holistic and integrated management of cultural heritage. Research related to finding the premises, principles and strategies for sustainable management and added social value are central issues to the program. The p rogram takes on to develop NIKU as a dialogue partners for management and as actors internationally and nationally within the preventive conservation field.
