The effects of Climate Change on the Norwegian Energy System towards 2050

Tildelt: kr 1,8 mill.

The overall aim of the project, to identify the effects of climate change on the Norwegian energy system towards 2050, will be investigated by both analyses of historical data as well as modelling of a future energy system. IFE will analyse historical da ta to identify effects of climate change on heat and cooling demand. Further, IFE will develop a stochastic MARKAL model that will be used to analyse effects of climate change towards 2050. met.no will contribute with climate scenarios suitable for the purpose. That is met.no will develop, e.g. hourly data. UiO will contribute to the project by extending the SolDat program used to analyse heating demand to cover cooling. This work will be part of PhD study. NVE will contribute as an active partner an alysing climate change effects on the resources and as an financing partner.
