Kina - Strategies to increase disease protection in Atlantic cod

Tildelt: kr 52 000

From a food safety and animal welfare perspective it is imperative to protect animals against infectious diseases. To develop efficient vaccines molecular tools such as gene sequence information must be found based don e.g. vaccinated fish that express pr oinflammatory molecules that play important role in immunity. For Atlantic cod, the most promised and emerging aquaculture species in Norway, no such tools are available or are being provided in the near future. A high throughput gene sequencing effort wo uld result in a information platform that allow us to make several research proposal eligible to national and international research funding. This project will benefit from ongoing reseach projects that includes several international partners (IMAQUANIM a nd FISHVACCPLAT).
