Russia - Network on research on HIV/AIDS prevention and social inclusion in North-West Russia

The aids epidemic in Russia has spread dramatically. HIV/AIDS is still mainly considered a medical problem in Russia. We therefore want to establish a research network in the field of social sciences related to HIV/AIDS. The main activity will be to orga nise a joint seminar on research on HIV/AIDS prevention and social inclusion in North West Russia. The network will consist of four institutions in Russia; in Murmansk/Apatity, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk and St.Petersburg. Three Norwegian partners will be involved: Fafo, NIBR and Bodø University College Agreement of cooperation between NIBR and Fafo as well as CV for Aadne Aasland and Arne Grønningsæter are attached to the application.
