Inductively Coupled Channels: Reliable and Secure Communications

Tildelt: kr 9,9 mill.

ICC:RASC is a joint project proposed by the University of Bergen that involves international and national collaborators. The coordinating role is played by the Selmer Center at the University of Bergen and international partners are the University of Leed s and DeltaCrypto B.V. of The Netherlands. The success of the project relies on combining our expertise in coding theory and cryptography with the extensive experience of our Leeds partner in the hardware implementation and chip design and of our Dutch pa rtner in the design of hardware-oriented cryptographic systems. The project is focused on the development of a new knowledge in the area of the design of software and hardware mechanisms for providing reliable and secure communication between various dev ices connected in a sensor network established by means of inductively coupled channels. Finding a balance between the security and efficiency, design of adequate lightweight algorithms poses many relevant open problems to be addressed in the course of th e project.
