NERA congress in Trondheim 5-7 March 2009

NERA (Nordic Educational Research Association) holds its annual congress in Trondheim 2009, 5-7 March . The convenor is the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology Management at Dragvoll, Trondheim. NERA started in 1972 and has established itself as a key factor in educational research in the Nordic countries. Its congresses are held annually alternating between Danmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Island. The congresses have been a yearly meeting-place for educational researchers of all kinds of special interests. The association is based on membership and decision-making is following traditional democratic rules. The yearly general assembly is the highest decision-making body. It appoints a board. Its main activities consist in organizing the annual congresses, the publication of the periodical "Nordisk Pedagogik" and the management of research networks of which there are 31 at this time. The last years' the congresses have gathered between 500-800 re search fellows mainly from the Nordic countries, but also some from the Baltic countries and others.
