The 1946 Birth Cohort Study has the potential to provide major contributions to our knowledge of lifetime predictors of cognitive function, physical function and disability, depression, bone hea lth, arthritis, heart disease and pulmonary disease in old age. Utilizing this data base, there is excellent potential for post-doctoral fellows to produce high impact research papers that will help them establish a successful research career.
