Ethical management of the Government Pension Fund- Global

Tildelt: kr 0,27 mill.

I am a Postdoctoral fellow at the Ethics program at the University of Oslo (Two and a half years, start June 2008). My post-doc project focuses on questions of complicity and co-responsibility and will in particular study the normative underpinnings and t he practical implementations of the ethical guidelines for the Government Pension Fund- Global issued November 19th 2004. The Ethics program strongly encourages their research fellows to visit universities abroad. For the academic year 2008-2009, I was i nvited to stay as a visiting scholar at Princeton University (see letters of invitation in attachment). This stay was postponed for family reasons (I am expecting my third child in the beginning of November this year). Mr. Dan Garber, Dean at the Philosop hy Department, has confirmed the invitation for the academic year 2009-2010 (see e-mail correspondence in attachment). At Princeton, I will be under the supervision of Professor Michael Smith. Smith is working extensively on questions of responsibility, a nd has also written several books together with Professor Philip Petitt.Collaboration with Princeton will be particularly important for my work on the questions of complicity, co-responsibility in institutions, and the responsibility of group agents.
