Variations in reporting of R&D statistics from firms in Norway

The project will investigate if there is a substantial underreporting of R&D from Norwegian firms to the R&D statistics by Statistics Norway. The analysis will give explanations and feed into the debate about the understanding of intramural R&D in firms a nd possibly also impact the formulation of future R&D surveys. The project will progress through a series of case studies of large R&D performers, actors in the petroleum extraction sector (including upstream suppliers), and firms in other sectors to be d ecided.
