The international community has been supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process for more than a decade and half. During these years the Palestinian population received more than 10 billion USD in various forms of foreign assistance. The Palestinian living conditions measured by economic indicators are not worse than those in the neighbouring countries. Contrary to its weight comparing the Palestinian national income the external assistance has not only failed 'to buy peace', but its reception (as we ll as perception) has also become quite controversial among the majority of the Palestinians. The aim of my research is to find proper explanations for this 'negative image' of international support during the research period (from January to August 2010) at Fafo AIS.
