Emission of Methane from Eurasian Arctic Thawing Permafrost: State-of-the-Art and Projection for 21st Century

The general objective of this project is to assess a positive feedback "permafrost - climate" (emissions of methane) and to study the influence of methane emission on the Arctic climate. The principal methodology of this project is the modeling of methane emissions from permafrost under the global warming. Model validation will be carried out using satellite data as well as data of in situ measurements of CH4 .
