European Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Laboratory Infrastructure

Tildelt: kr 3,0 mill.

The project aims at bringing ECCSEL forward to the EU-funded preparatory phase. The main goal of the project is to compose a successful application for funding through the EU FP7 Capacities program. The most important task is therefore to write the propos al for funding, which includes arranging meetings and workshops with ECCSEL partners and experts within different areas (i.e. IPR). The project will also support the ECCSEL consortium in the following contract negotiations. The project also aims at estab lishing the Norwegian and international components of ECCSEL. For this to be successful, mapping of existing laboratories and rigs is necessary, including a gap-analysis of important CCS-technologies, laboratories and rigs. Even though much of the consort ium will be established during the Norwegian pre-project phase, it is not expected that the full consortium is established before the end of the preparatory phase. To bring ECCSEL forward towards the preparatory phase, and later the implementation phase , project management and coordination will be a major part of the project. This will include website development, dissemination, coordination with other national and international activities within CCS (R&D projects, SET-Plan, ZEP) and further development of the Norwegian component of ECCSEL.
