Socio-Economic Drivers in Implementing Bioenergy Projects ? Norwegian participation in IEA Bioenergy Task 29 2010-2012

This project finances the Norwegian participation in IEA Bioenergy Task 29 "Socio-Economic Drivers in Implementing Bioenergy Projects" in 2010-2012. Task 29 arranges workshops in cooperation with other international bodies(FAO, World Bank, UNIDO etc) to d iscuss and analyse social and economic drivers and barrieres of establishing bioenergy supply chains and markets. Regional and local aspects of bioenergy utilisation is also an important topic. Special focus will be given to the topics 'bioenergy in a g reen economy', 'bioenergy and poverty' and 'bioenergy and regional development'. Norway participates in the program through ongoing projects at Energigården and Skog og Landskap. This project finances the extra cost and effort by participating in the IEA activity. The outcome of the work is published in proceedings, at an educational website and in scientific journals. The results will also be presented at meetings and conferences in Norway.
