Research statement I am interested in mathematical and computational methods for modeling the behavior of several individual agents simulthaneosly. This permits a direct study of the often complex dynamics produced by the agents' actions and interactions, and is also a way of both justifying the institutional entities that are often taken as given in social science and a valuable tool in assessing the robustness of those entities. I am partculary interested in the modeling of collective agreements, social networks, norms, and social unrest. The objective is to obtain a better understanding of the dynamics of various social processes and hopefully contribute policy advice.
