Språkvask av bokmanus "Ritual Imagination"

Boken er en revidert utgave av min doktoravhandling. Manuset er nå ferdig revidert med unntak av introduksjonskapittelet der noe arbeid fortsatt gjenstår. De øvrige 9 kapitler er klar for språkvask. Manuset vil sendes forlaget og trykkeprosessen igansette s så snart manuset er ferdig revidert og språkvasket. Forlaget ønsker å sette i gang med trykkeprosess så snart som mulig. Beskrivelse av manus: "The book is a a study of tromba spirit possession among the Betsimisaraka people of Eastern Madagascar. More specifically I explore the dynamics of ritual and cosmology, and how this dynamics acts upon (various aspects of) reality.I see tromba possession as flexible, fluid force, one whose ritual imaginary playfully draws together thematics from radically diffe rent cultural and social domains, creating ways not only of relating to changing, disjunctive circumstances but of constituting, at least to a significant degree, their realities. Theoretically my study is particularly influenced by the works of the Frenc h-Greek philosopher Cornelius Castoriadis and his ideas on the relationship between imagination and society, and, I believe, I offer an innovative view on ritual dynamics. The study is an ethnographic contribution to anthropological and religious studies on Madagascar, as well as a contribution to the study of spirit possession and ritual in general. It may thus be of interest to scholars working with Madagascar and religion in Africa, in addition to anyone interested in ritual and ritual theory in genera l." Manuset er skrevet på engelsk.
