The proposal suggest further development of an infrastructure, EBAS, that was developed by NILU in the mid nienties and builds on heritage dating back to mid seventies. Observational data from a number of international monitoring and research programmes a re archived in the database - most importantly from the EMEP monitoring programme funded by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN-ECE). The existing database infrastructure is currently developed to serve the data archival and reporting ne eds of the host institute. The current proposal suggest further development of 6 new or improved routines and modules of the database. These include:
1. Routine for export of data in new formats
2. Routine for creation of data aggregates and statistical derivatives
3. Module to allow mass download of files and scheduled data transfer
4. Improvements of performance of the EBAS web interface
5. Improved online data visualisation capabilities
6. Improved Quality Assurance module for Near Real Time data
