Norwegian and German national security policy towards new international security threats in the 21st century.

My project and thesis will include international security issues and how national security policy are formed in Norway and Germany in order to meet the challenges in the 21st century. Furthermore, I would like to study the implications for relations betwe en Germany and Norway, two very close NATO allies. I am strongly committed to obtain a full comprehension of the relations between the two countries trough looking at their approach in Afghanistan. I would like to compare Norway and Germany?s decision-m aking process towards sending troops to Afghanistan as part of their national security strategy, as well as the reasons behind and the implications of these policies. I plan to thoroughly explore the two countries presence and cooperation within the NATO- context in Afghanistan.
