ACM Multimedia Systems Conference 2013

Tildelt: kr 24 999

MMSys is a yearly international conference focused on the challenges of multimedia systems. It is organized by the ACM Special Interest Group for Multimedia (SIGMM) and its proceedings are archived in the ACM Digital Library. Having replaced the SPIE MMCN conference in a grassroots effort of multimedia systems researchers in 2010, MMSys is a top-tier conference for academic and industrial researchers on multimedia systems. Multimedia systems research promotes a holistic view of multimedia systems, where new developments of components must be seen within entire multimedia systems, including their effect on end-users. MMSys reaches out to researchers who take this point of view, and who identify themselves primarily as part of more "traditional" systems co mmunities such as networking, operating systems, databases, and real-time systems but for whom multimedia applications are a driving problem. The topic areas of MMSys include: multimedia networking, tele-immersion, networked games, peer-to-peer streaming and multicast, multimedia middleware and toolkits, and multi-core support for multimedia applications. 3D technology in multimedia is given special attention this year. MMSys 2013 will host two workshops for the first time. The Mobile Video Workshop (MoV id), which focusses on the technical challenges of mobile video services, and Network and Operating Systems Support for Digital Audio and Video (NOSSDAV), focussing on emerging and visionary research in multimedia networking and systems. With MMSys and NO SSDAV, which has been held yearly since 1990, ACM's two major multimedia systems events are coming to Norway this year, and it is the first time they are organized together to allow more researcher to attend both of them.
