The main idea of MAPPA is to take an existing research prototype, developed for collective cultural mapping of urban spaces, into a fully fledged tool and to investigate its wider application for locative and participatory media. This involves exploration of potential values for organisations, communities, and groups to expose their own views, mappings and formulations in further work in their special and strategic areas of interests. It also involves a global distribution of an innovative mobile applicat ion that are unique in its concept, communication design, and material-digital city representations.The tool has considerable potential and value to support social media uses in education, business, research and societal outreach. MAPPA build on a strong existing relationship in a funded VERDIKT project called YOUrban and take this onwards also into international collaboration while supporting local enterprises and research collaborations.
