Singapore-Norway Cooperation on MTEC Conferences

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (?MPA?) and the Research Council of Norway (?RCN?) executed a Memorandum of Understanding on 6th March 2000 (?MOU?) relating to joint co-operation in maritime research, development, education and training. The MOU was extended for its fifth successive three-year term in 2012. MPA started the International Conference on Port and Maritime R&D and Technology Series in 2001 which was rebranded as the International Maritime-Port Technology Conference (?MTEC?) seri es in 2007. As MTEC and its predecessor conference had been organized by MPA from 2001 to 2011, MPA had sought RCN to include the organization of MTEC as part of the MOU activities and it has been agreed that this will be done through an amendment of the MoU in June 2013. MARINTEK and NTNU have been asked to handle the technical arrangements related to the conferences and it has further been agreed that the next MTEC conferences will be in the fall of 2014 in Trondheim, then in 2015 in Singapore and the reafter each second year alternating between Trondheim and Singapore, i.e., in Trondheim 2017 and in Singapore in 2019. This application relates to supporting MTEC, including the Trondheim event in 2014 and planning together with Singapore of the whole s eries of events from 2014 and forward. This application only covers activities in 2013 and 2014.
