The journal Nordic Museology is issued twice yearly with articles in Danish, Norwegian, English and Swedish. The journal aims to present articles of high quality over the whole spectrum of the museum and heritage sector, from biological heritage to art mu seums, from digital heritage outreach projects to collection management. The quality of articles are secure by the peer review process and the broad composition of the redaction and editorial board. There is one editor from each of the Nordic countries, D enmark, Finland, Island, Norway and Finland. In each of the countries there is a national editorial board, and altogether they form the editorial board of the journal. The journal serves as a vehicle for the exchange knowledge between academia and the mus eum and cultural heritage sector, and not least as an arena for the production of new knowledge grounded in Nordic realities and perspectives.
A journal which allows articles in four different languages demands close cooperation between editors in the dif ferent countries, as well as with the authors. The journal has not had an editorial secretary, but will engage one if funding could be secured by NOP-HS.
The journal has had electronic distribution on its own homepage, but has now signed an agreement wit h EBESCO, who will make the journal's articles available to subscribers and searchable in major search engines. This will bring additional costs in digitalization, and we apply for extra money to make this process possible.
