10th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics

The International Symposium on Ecohydraulics (ISE) is an important venue for discussions of research and management on aquatic water resources and particularly cross-disciplinary applications of hydraulics, hydrology and ecology. The 10th ISE will be held in Trondheim from the 21st to the 27th of June 2014. More than 300 abstracts were submitted to the conference and a wide range of research and management issues from all over the world will be presented. The conference contains a plenary session with inv ited speakers every day, three parallell sessions of presentations and discussions and ond day with excursions.In addition, there will be a number of short courses arranged the weekend before the symposium starts. The conference topics covers scientific a dvances, technological advances and practical applications of ecohydraulics. Providing a meeting place were water management practitioners and the scientific community can exchange ideas is a priority objective of the 10th ISE, and we hope we can advanc e this through the selection of key note speakers and special sessions. Among these, the Norwegian Environment Agency will host a special session on environmental flows. Papers and extended abstracts will be presented in symposium proceedings. Selected papers will be published in international journals, the conference will lead to special issues in the peer-reviewed journals River Research and Applications, Limnologica and Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research. The conference has a budget o f 1,425 million NOK, and support and sponsors are needed to arrange a successful meeting. We therefore seek NOK 200.000,- in support from the Norwegian Research Council through the MILUTV_AREANER program. We do think the objective of the 10th ISE has a ve ry good fit with the topics covered within this program
