Living standard, well-being and poverty in the circumpolar Arctic: exploring conditions for adaptation to climate change

The proposed research seminar has the double purpose of enhancing the quality of the ECONOR report, by gathering the ECONOR network for integration of the draft chapters of the report, and contributing to develop a new proposed research project on the soc io-economic conditions for adaptation to climate change.The proposed project is organized into three WPs: Living standard, well-being and poverty will be studied by carrying out new surveys in the circumpolar Arctic, cooperating with the ECONOR network a nd other Arctic scholars (WP.1). A pilot project will develop new questions to include in a proposed new version of the Norwegian level of living survey for Finnmark (WP.2). We will consider how the Norwegian survey design can be adapted, in cooperation w ith the SLiCA surveys, to the circumpolar Arctic to explore the capacity for adaptation to climate change (WP.3).
