Our project is driven by a commercial need which we see as a significant opportunity to ourselves and our current and our partner(s).
We have patents and trade secrets that cover the ASIC technology.
The key features of the GammaVision project are:
( 1)Stand-off localization and isotope identification of gamma radiation sources up to 9MeV;
(2)The highest reported energy resolution for room temperature gamma ray detectors of better than 0.4% at the 662keV Cesium line;
(3)Single person portable and batt ery operated, no need for bulky cryogenic cooling or expertise in radiation detection by the user;
(4)No heavy lead collimator leading to orders of magnitude increased sensitivity by electronic collimation using the Compton scatter principle combined with a coded aperture for lower energies.
There is presently no product in the market that offers the combination of portability, ruggedness, energy and spatial resolution of the proposed device.
