This study aims to employ speleological techniques to directly observed englacial structures in polythermal glaciers, an approach that has several distinct advantages over surface and borehole structural investigations. Meltwater conduits incise into an ice mass creating vertical sections that act as windows into the glacier's interior, revealing englacial structures in remarkable detail. By undertaking a multi-faceted approach to this investigation, traditional structural glaciological techniques can be correlated with speleological investigations to complement one another, enabling the evolution of ice structures to be documented through the whole depth of a glacier.
