Norwegian node of the European Marine Biology Research Centre (EMBRC), support for participation in implementation phase

Tildelt: kr 0,25 mill.

EMBRC Norway is an integrated collaboration among the participating research institutions. The Norwegian partners will jointly offer access to a broad variety of marine ecosystems, provide access and support for using advanced scientific equipment/facilities and will provide training when necessary. The Norwegian EMBRC node consists of institutions that complement each other, provides access to marine biota ranging from temperated fiord systems affected by human activities, to the high arctic open oceans. EMBRC is currently aiming at becoming a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). It will during 2014-15 establish its head office, and start offering services and access for the academic community and the outside community at large. The Sars Centre has represented Norway in the EMBRC since its preparatory phase initiated in 2011, will in this phase continue that role, and is now also coordinating the coordinating task for the Norwegian EMBRC node (the last issue not part of this application).
