Generating Value from Big Data with Intelligent Geospatial Analytics, Forecasting and Visualisations

Tildelt: kr 49 999

It has already been recognised that the pure application of existing geospatial solutions is insufficient to optimise the value creation from Big Data. Therefore, GEOVALUE research applies and extends existing open European and International interoperability standards, while it advances the fundamental data structures, algorithms and software which are required to meet the geospatial information handling and challenges in Big Data research. GEOVALUE proposes the next generation of Geospatial Analytics and Forecasting Services that provide on-demand extraction of value from highly assimilated structures, semi-structured and unstructured data (including large scale remote sensing (e.g. Space-borne Copernicus Sentinel 1) and point clouds (e.g. LIDAR or Galileo-based tracing); in-situ sensing and crowd sourced observations at local scales) - all with an unprecedented spatio-temporal resolutions. GEOVALUE particularly emphasises on the re-use of data sources and services in 'Cross-' domains which will cover the interest of a wide range of stakeholders and end-users. It will provide an open, cost-effective, scalable, robust and secure platform of Big Data geospatial analytics and reasoning services with on-demand real-time extraction of Big Data Values. The exploration and extraction of Big Data knowledge is accelerated by advanced visualisation methods, which maintain the needed integrity of the geospatial dimension, and value, in Big Data together with the associated propagated uncertainties in the desired value chains of interest. These are greatly assessed and quantified since they are vital for establishing the Big Data Value accurately.
