Metallic nanoparticles bacterially recovered from industrial metallic waste, ores and effluents

Industrial metallic and oxide waste, ores and effluents will be supplied by the industrial partners to be processed for recovering metallic nanoparticles using a biological approach. Two main approach are considered and will be optimized to achieve the mail goal: 1. An upstream process, which consists into designing the process so that the raw materials are adapted to the bacterias, and evaluating the bacterial mechanisms 2. A downstream process, which aims for a long-term improvement by adapting the bacterial strains for enhanced recovery. The best recovery processes from concrete effluents will be subsequently tested at pilot-scaleto evaluate the up-scalability of the process. In the meantime, nanoparticles recovered both at lab-scale and industrial pilot scale will be evaluated by the partners within different application areas. Environmental aspects, safety and social acceptance will also be considered.
