The Rise of the Modern World and Civilisations: Water-society relations beyond environmental reductionism

The primary objective of the project will be to deepen our understanding of fundamental transformations in human history by integrating water-society interactions into analyses and by further developing a contrastive and genealogical methodology, called the Water-Society System Approach.
